Valentine's Day Card

In my Close To My Heart box from the previous post, I received this cute Feb/March holidays stamp set called "So Lucky" and I couldn't wait to open it up and play.

I had a hard time deciding which stamp to use first. But then I saw this "Woven together in love" sentiment on the "Togetherness" stamp set and inspiration struck. I know it's a little hard to see. Sorry. (Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring me a new big girl camera.)

So here is what I came up with. I'm super pleased with how it turned out. Plus, Brian walked by and said, "Hey, cool card." which is good since it's for him. hee hee. He always prefers the more simple cards.

I have a few more Valentine cards to work on before the end of the week which is a good thing because I have a few more ideas I want to fiddle with using this stamp set. I am also really looking forward to creating some fun stuff with the St. Patrick's Day stamps. St. Patrick's Day is a very special holiday for Brian and me. I'll fill you in on the story when I post those cards.

I hope you find time today to do something that makes your heart happy.

Anticipation

You know when you are so excited you can hardly sit down. I was like that all last week. I checked my email constantly. Counted the days down. Laid in bed at night and dreamed about it finally getting here. At every noisy truck that rumbled down our street, I'd jump up to peek out the window. I thought I would die of anticipation. But if FINALLY got here.

This big, beautiful box finally got here.

(please ignore the date stamp--it's obviously very wrong)

Anyway, I had exhausted myself checking the clock every 16 seconds and since the boys were asleep, I decided to lay down and take a nap. Just as I was drifting off, there was a knock on the door. I flew off the bed and to the door. You would have thought it was Santa or Ed McMann (oh, wait he's dead. Who is PCH now?) I'll be honest I did do a happy dance when I saw the UPS man and it wasn't just for his brown shorted hunkiness.

I ripped open the box and tried not to squeal like a three year old. I sighed and ohhed and ahhed over all my goodies and then laid them all out on my dining table. Check out all this loveliness.

I had to stand on a chair to get it all in one picture. There are paper packs, inks, stamps, ribbons, brads, and layout books. I'd show you up close what these pretties look like, but you have to come to my house to see. hee hee. Or you could go to www.closetomyheart.com and look at the Spring Idea Book.

My creativity has gone into overdrive. All that was so neatly arranged on my dining table is now exploded all over my craft table. Dinner will be pizza and kids are going to bed early. I will post some of my creations soon.

I hope there is something in your life that brings you as much excitement as Close To My Heart brings me. If not, I'd be happy to get you addicted.
