Happy Mom!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve gone back to work. To say I miss the kiddos is an understatement. Since I can’t literally take them with me, I created this cute cube using CTMH Fanfare so I could still see their sweet faces all day. I added a few stamped images and buttons and viola. Happy Mom. It came together very quickly and I love how with the four different sides, I can simply turn it and get a new view.

With the cube costing only $4.95, it is way cheaper than a frame and so much cuter. And with each side being 5" x 5", I didn’t use even a fourth of the paper pack, leaving me plenty for pages and other projects. I love making my supplies stretch. And I really love this Fanfare paper. It is so versatile and not gender specific. I’ve made some really cute birthday cards and working on a page with pictures from the playground. Loving how it is all turning out.

If your desk needs some adornment or you’re looking for a new way to provide photos for family and friends, I highly recommend the cube. With all our great paper, you could customize your cube to suit your photos. Shot me an email at jenna_chere@yahoo.com if you’re interested in creating one for yourself. I can provide the super easy instructions or if you’d like for me do the work for you, I can create one with your choice of paper.

Cricut "Art Philosophy"

Don’t you just love your Cricut?

Well, you are about to love it even more.

Don’t have a Cricut, but been thinking of getting one?

Well, now is the perfect time.

For the first time ever, Close To My Heart and Cricut are joining together to bring you the brand new exclusive to Close To My Heart “Art Philosophy” cartridge. There are over 700 images on this cartridge like rosettes, banners, tags, and gift boxes. And if that isn’t cool enough, tons of the images coordinate with several of our amazing clear acrylic stamps that are debuting in the new Fall/Winter Idea Book, allowing you to quickly cut beautiful images and then jazz them up with color and designs.

Beginning August 1 when the new Fall/Winter book is released, you can order the “Art Philosophy” package which contains the cartridge, three stamps sets specifically designed to embellish your cut images and three 9” x 12” Dimensional Elements chipboard sheets. In addition, any stamp image throughout the Idea Book outlined in red has a corresponding cartridge image. And they even tell you the size you need to cut. Pretty cool, huh?

Here is a video showcasing some of the projects made with the cartridge.

So how can you get one of these in your hot little hands? Easy!

You can shot me a pre-order email and have it delivered directly to your house and I will also send you a new Idea Book. Entire bundle is only $99. And since Hostess Rewards are now available in orders over $15o, if you add a few other items, you can earn up to at least $25 in rewards.

Or you could HOST A PARTY! When you reach $250 or more for your party total, you could get the entire “Art Philosophy” package for only $50! And still get at least $40 in Hostess Rewards. Crazy, right?

Or you could join Close to My Heart as a consultant for only $99 and get some amazing products and supplies and then order the cartridge at the consultant’s discount. I’d love for you to join me in this fantastic scrapping sisterhood.

Whichever option you are interested in or if you’d like more details, simply shot me an email at jenna_chere@yahoo.com

Sweet Baby Ava's Book

You see this handsome guy. This is my little brother.

And let me just say that not only is he nice on the outside, but he is nice on the inside as well. Kind, loyal, dependable, sweet. Not to mention a kick butt musician. Which I am sure is why this gorgeous and talented woman married him.

And as things go, their love grew this cutie patootie.

For a baby shower present, I created this 6 x 6 Board book using the Sophia paper and stickease and CTMH's Board books. They make great mini albums. I apologize the pictures are so bad. I almost forgot to take pics and snapped a few with my iphone at the last minute. I used CTMH's Alpha stickers for the title on the front page and added just a few extra bling that I had. Two of the really great things about this project was just how quickly it came together and how much paper I had left over for cards and such.

If you’d like directions on how to create one of your own, or if you’d like for me to customize one for you, just shot me a line at jenna_chere@yahoo.com

Balance

When I was teaching, I use to have a poster on the wall of my classroom that showed an elephant balancing on a beach with the caption “The key to life is balance!” I’ve found this quote to hold quite a bit of truth for me as long as I also remembered that life requires me to re-evaluate all I am trying to balance on a pretty regular basis because life is constantly changing.

My biggest change recently is that Brian and I traded places. He’s home with the boys teaching them manly things like the art of spitting and the perfect head noogie. And I’ve gone back to working outside of the home. As you can imagine, this has taken some adjusting on everyone’s part. Some days I feel like a tight rope walker worthy of the circus and other days I feel like I’m sprawled on the floor where I’ve crash landed.

But we’ve been practicing for a couple of months now and I feel like we’ve regained our balance to a certain extent. I’ve begun to find more time to craft and I am looking forward to sharing with you again. I’m also putting together some classes and fun crafting get togethers. I’ll post all the details soon.

But for now, I’ll leave you with a picture of a card I made last night, using CTMH’s gorgeous Bliss paper and silver flower.

I've used this paper for a mother's day card, an engagement card, and this card. I also used it to make a picture frame for my niece when she graduated. I've loved how they have all turned out. To see the entire paper collection, click here.

Have a "Bliss"ful day!
