Pretty Picture Frame Presents

If I know you, and you have a birthday, which obviously is pretty likely, chances are pretty good that you will get a picture frame for a birthday present this year. Just keeping it real.

Here are two that I’ve made recently using the Sophia collection for two of my co-workers.

I used the wooden frames from Michaels. Painted the sides with white paint, cut the paper the same dimensions as the frame and glued it down with a thin coat of Modge Podge. Then I took my Exact-o knife and cut out the hole. I then cut a piece of cardstock to fit inside as a backing.

Here are two different gift bags I created for the frames, one in kraft and one in white paper.

And here is one of the cards. Don’t know how I forgot to take a picture of the other. Oh, wait, yes I do. Life is crazy. : p

Pretty cool, huh?

Here are a few other layouts the art department created using the Elemental collection.

I especially love this last one. The cork letters and the stamped "Live, Love, Laugh" on the great journaling spots. Aren't they rockin'?

I just placed my order for these goodies, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on them and play.

If you want some of your own to play with, just drop me a line and we can have them delivered start to your door.

First Day of 8th Grade

I am so proud of myself. I already scrapped Lelia’s first day of school pictures. She was so cute the first day. I told her to stand by the door and I’d get the traditional first day photo. But she started doing all these funny poses one after the other, so I kept clicking. Their silliness perfectly captures one of my favorite parts of her personality.

And I am in love with the new Typeset collection and the coordinating stamp sets. Lurve them I tell ya. It was not hardship to put this layout together. I used the layout on the cover as a jumping off spot and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. And so does Lelia. I really love how she’s becoming more and more involved with scrapping her pictures.

If you still have first day of school pictures you need to scrap, give me a shout and we’ll get some Typeset headed your way.

Lists make me happy!

Hello, my name is Jenna and I am a compulsive list maker.

I make lists of things to get at the grocery store, things that need to get done, of things I desire to purchase, of things I desire to accomplish. My lists have lists. And while I know that I can make a list on my phone, I still love putting my lists on paper. To keep myself from going insane looking all over kingdom come for my lists, I use a journal. And me being me, I have to jazz them up. Here are a few that I have made recently.

Using the You Rock collection.

Using the Wings collection.

Using the Veranda collection.

With the new Typeset collection.

Using the Splendor collections.

Of course, you don’t have to use them for lists. I’ve given them as presents, used them as a diary and Lelia has one for school.

I love the sturdiness of CTMH’s pocket journals with their hard covers, spiral and clear plastic cover front. Let me know if you’d like to purchase one of these already made journals for $10 or if you’d like to purchase the supplies to create your own, just shot me an email.

Masculine card using Lucky

I've often heard people say that they have a really hard time making masculine cards for the men in their life. I can relate. So many stamps and paper collections are gorgeous with floral patterns or too cutely themed for children. I also struggle with finding the right "manly" embellishments. But with so many men in my family and being the mother of sons, I decided I had to get over it. So I was so excited when CTMH released their "Lucky" collection. (P.S. I've tried every which way and just can't get these two pics to line up.)

I would have never put Olive, Orange and Navy together on my own, but I LOVE the combo. I think Lucky is a perfect collection for males of all agaes. And with a few metal embellishments, I was able to create this card which felt masculine enought to me to get me to mail it off without cringing.

So what about you? What do you struggle with? Have any masculine cards you'd like to share?

August Crafty Fun!

Looking for some “me” time? Girls’ Night out?

When asked if you craft, do you always reply, “I’d love to, but I just don’t have the time?”

I’ve discovered something about myself. I don’t HAVE the time to craft. I have to MAKE the time. With all of our busy lives and hectic schedules, are you setting aside time to recharge your battery and feed your soul? Are you honoring your place in your family as Historian or any of the many other roles you hold? Make some time this month. Let out your crafty side. Come to my house and play. Or get a group of friends together and I’ll come to you.

Adult Summer mini albums Tuesday, August 16th at 7:00pm
Have tons of fun photos from your summer that you haven’t done anything with yet? Print out a few and bring them over. We will create a 10 page 6” x 6” mini album using fun beach themed paper. I will provide all supplies needed. $15 RSVP by 8-9-11

Typeset Workshop Tuesday, August 30th at 7:00pm
The Typeset collection is perfect for 1St day of school photos, graduation photos, summer sports and many others. You can create cards or scrapbook pages. I will have directions for both.

There are two options:
Option 1: Purchase the Typeset WOTG on pg 19 for $30 plus shipping and tax. Receive the entire pack to use and keep anything left over including the stamp set. RSVP by 8-23-11

Option 2: Pay $15 dollars and receive only the supplies you need to make the projects (2 - 2 page layouts or 10 cards) and use my stamp set during the workshop. RSVP by 8-23-11

If these dates don’t work for you, but you have three friends who’d like to get together and have some crafty fun, we can easily schedule your own workshop. Or I can provide the supplies and detailed instructions for you to complete the project on your own.

In addition, I have many other workshops that can be scheduled for yourself and a few of your friends. For example: cubes, banners, journals, bookmarks, cards for all occasions, frames, and gift bags and tins.

Happy August!!

I have always loved this month. And not just because it is my birthday month either. But this particular August is super exciting for many reasons. For one, CTMH is releasing its new Fall/Winter Idea Book introducing EIGHT new collections, tons of new stamps, loads of new accessories, and of course, the Cricut cartridge.

And not only is if chalk full of new products but there are also so major business changes like lower prices on our same great clear acrylic stamps. (Who lowers their prices in this economy?) And in addition, there is a major change to our Stamp of the Month program. The stamps are still only available for one month and you can still buy them outright at full price, but now, if you spend just $50, you can purchase the stamp for only $5. Crazy great, right? So here is August’s SOTM, Wicked. Isn’t fun?

Click here to check out tons of wonderful artwork using this stamp on the SOTM Blog Hop. And if that wasn't enough to entice you, we've got a little Extra, Extra for you.

Click here to being browsing the Idea Book online. Then email me at jenna_chere@yahoo.com or give me a call at 210.264.4025 to place your order so you can have a Wickedly Happy August too!!

Happy Mom!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve gone back to work. To say I miss the kiddos is an understatement. Since I can’t literally take them with me, I created this cute cube using CTMH Fanfare so I could still see their sweet faces all day. I added a few stamped images and buttons and viola. Happy Mom. It came together very quickly and I love how with the four different sides, I can simply turn it and get a new view.

With the cube costing only $4.95, it is way cheaper than a frame and so much cuter. And with each side being 5" x 5", I didn’t use even a fourth of the paper pack, leaving me plenty for pages and other projects. I love making my supplies stretch. And I really love this Fanfare paper. It is so versatile and not gender specific. I’ve made some really cute birthday cards and working on a page with pictures from the playground. Loving how it is all turning out.

If your desk needs some adornment or you’re looking for a new way to provide photos for family and friends, I highly recommend the cube. With all our great paper, you could customize your cube to suit your photos. Shot me an email at jenna_chere@yahoo.com if you’re interested in creating one for yourself. I can provide the super easy instructions or if you’d like for me do the work for you, I can create one with your choice of paper.

Beginning August 1 when the new Fall/Winter book is released, you can order the “Art Philosophy” package which contains the cartridge, three stamps sets specifically designed to embellish your cut images and three 9” x 12” Dimensional Elements chipboard sheets. In addition, any stamp image throughout the Idea Book outlined in red has a corresponding cartridge image. And they even tell you the size you need to cut. Pretty cool, huh?

Here is a video showcasing some of the projects made with the cartridge.

So how can you get one of these in your hot little hands? Easy!

You can shot me a pre-order email and have it delivered directly to your house and I will also send you a new Idea Book. Entire bundle is only $99. And since Hostess Rewards are now available in orders over $15o, if you add a few other items, you can earn up to at least $25 in rewards.

Sweet Baby Ava's Book

You see this handsome guy. This is my little brother.

And let me just say that not only is he nice on the outside, but he is nice on the inside as well. Kind, loyal, dependable, sweet. Not to mention a kick butt musician. Which I am sure is why this gorgeous and talented woman married him.

And as things go, their love grew this cutie patootie.

For a baby shower present, I created this 6 x 6 Board book using the Sophia paper and stickease and CTMH's Board books. They make great mini albums. I apologize the pictures are so bad. I almost forgot to take pics and snapped a few with my iphone at the last minute. I used CTMH's Alpha stickers for the title on the front page and added just a few extra bling that I had. Two of the really great things about this project was just how quickly it came together and how much paper I had left over for cards and such.

If you’d like directions on how to create one of your own, or if you’d like for me to customize one for you, just shot me a line at jenna_chere@yahoo.com
